What is Supported Housing?
Supported housing provides accommodation with support services available to tenants. Our projects vary in the level of support provided, which enables us to consider applications from individuals with a variety of needs.
The majority of our projects are let on “Assured Shorthold” tenancies, which run for 6 month periods. Tenants stay at our projects for differing lengths of time depending on their individual circumstances.
Whilst a tenant at our projects, people agree a support plan with our project workers. Support plans are developed by agreement and give people the opportunity to identify what they would like to achieve while at the project. Support plans can include a wide range of things from education and employment issues, to recreational activities or accessing services from other agencies.
If you would like to apply to Mind Monmouthshire to be considered for supported housing you can complete an initial contact form or, with your permission, a referral can be made on your behalf from somebody who is working with you, such as a social worker, community psychiatric nurse or family member or friend.Accessing our Supported Housing
If you would like more information about our supported housing you can e-mail: info@mindmonmouthshire.org.uk
or contact our Supported Housing Co-ordinator on 01878 858275 for an informal chat. When we receive your application we will contact you and arrange to meet with you to look at what support you wish to access, and discuss our services. Project 1 Located in the town centre provides supported accommodation for 12 tenants. The project also has 2, two-bedroom flats in the grounds which provide more independent accommodation.
Project 2 is a smaller house in the town centre, providing supported accommodation for 6 tenants.
At both of these projects staff are available on site to provide week day support
Projects 3,4 & 5 are smaller, more independent projects in Abergavenny. Each provides supported accommodation for 2 people. Tenants at these projects can access weekday support from staff.
Project 6 based in Caldicot, this project provides supported accommodation for 3 people. Staff are available on site for weekday support and an on-call service available during evenings and weekends.
General - In all of our projects tenants have their own bedrooms and share communal kitchens, laundry facilities, sitting rooms and gardens.
Mind Monmouthshire operates an emergency on-call service. All tenants at any of our projects can access support out of hours via the on-call service.
