PRESS RELEASE - 9 February 2018

Children’s Mental Health week 2018
- Mind Monmouthshire’s New Schools Project

Mind Monmouthshire have successfully secured a large grant of approximately £30,000 from National Mind to deliver a range of mental health resilience courses to young people and their teachers in the four comprehensive schools in Monmouthshire in 2018 to 2019.

  • All young people in years 8, 9 and 10 of Monmouthshire schools will understand the effects of Mental Health problems and know where they can seek appropriate help.

  • Young people aged 11 to 16 in Monmouthshire will have the opportunity to attend resilience based self-management courses in their school environment

We are planning a launch event at the beginning of April to kick start the project and will be inviting stakeholders to see what our plans and ideas are.

This grant will complement the work done by Newport Mind Changing Minds Project across Gwent and due to finish this year as well as the One to One recovery focused work funded by Mind Monmouthshire’s Board.
