The Resource Centre is located at our "3Cs"
drop-in, in Abergavenny. It is equipped with two computers with access
to the internet and a printer. Both computers are capable of playing
DVDs and CDs (headphones provided). In addition, other resources will
be made available such as books (especially self help ones and information
sources about illness), magazines, leaflets, DVDs and CDs (ie self help or
information).
You can find information on any aspect of your
life online. You might want to find out about local facilities, Welsh
Assembly Government initiatives, UK Government initiatives, help and advice
on your illness, local self help groups, leisure activities and groups,
welfare rights, growing vegetables, healthy eating, entertainment, news,
politics, the weather, your favourite stars, music, art.
You might also want to sit and read or borrow the
books. Magazines and leaflets will tell you all sorts about events and
initiatives that are happening locally and nationally.
Everybody will have an induction into the use of
the computers before they become members. This will help you to switch
on, use your password and access the internet. If you want to become
more proficient in computer usage, you may need to take classes elsewhere
(we'll help you to find something that suits you).
